Positive Attitude

Thanks so much!! My Dear Friends!!

Seems that I threw a big bomb with my previous post. Thanks for all your e-mails and messages. I'm getting so much better now.

After a few days of resting and reflection, I feel so much better today. I think attitude really makes a lot of difference. When I felt so down the other day, I was just alone in Penang trying to figure out why and how I have my life this way. Staying away from home for so many years and now even traveling like mad.

However, today I felt so much released and organized. I guess it's because I organized up my work and listed down all the tasks that I need to concentrate on. It made me feel much more secured with a better planning.

Besides, I also chatted with a few friends today. Sometimes, it's really about how we look at things and our attitude would make things look very differently. After chatting with Tina, I realized that I got so many friends around though they might be next to me physically. We do care for each other. We visit each other's blogs. We e-mail and chat with each other. We also plan for trips that have never come true. :Q We plan for so many things together. Though we are all at different places, we are connected all the time. So I'm not alone at all.

Also chatted with Matt who just changed job 2 months back. Compared with the stress he got from the new environment, new company, new industry and new products, my task of selling my products is so much easier. At least, I am familiar with the company, industry and products. I only need to identify the correct channels and customers. So it seems not so difficult also.

However, I made a mistake when I was so down and trying to seek for some company the other day. I ended up pushing myself into something I don't want just because of my weak mind and the negative attitude. I should have known what I want and what I do not want. Nothing can replace what we really want in our hearts.

So the conclusion is "Positive Attitude" is so important that once I look at things positively, it becomes much more easier and I feel more comfortable also. Guess that's also the reason why people who are more confident with themselves can achieve more things as they do BELIEVE they can make it with the positive attitude.

Yap, got be POSITIVE then!!

Penang

Just came back from a business trip in Penang yesterday. This is my second visit to Penang. I was there in 2002 Dec for my birthday trip with my ex-boyfriend. We were traveling around Langkawi and Penang and we found one of the best Chandols in Malaysia. To me, it's even better than those in Melacca. There are actually 2 shops opposite each other but I went to the wrong one this time. Don't really have chance to try the other one to compare these two shops. Hopefully, I would have chance to visit Penang again as I'm concentrating on opening outstation markets for Malaysia now.

Just realized that this is my first time looking back what I have been through in the past few years. Mabye it's becuase of this particular place and the people involved or I just come to the age that I accumulated a few things to look back in my life. It's really a different feeling for me that I start to think of what I have done and been through. Is that the sign of aging?? : )

Disappointments

Have been through a few disappointments in the past four months. I always believe that I won't really get hurt if I do not have so much desire especially on those things that I can't control. Therefore, I try to cut down my wants and needs on certain things I do not have the control. However, lately I let my desire and feelings go freely and seems it's getting a bit out of control. The more I want, the more disappointments I get if I fail.

So I start wondering what I really want in life. I thought I just want a happy and simple life, but seems I spend a lot of time and efforts on study, work, and relationship to try to get something big out of them.

But what do I really have now?

Yap, I'm finishing my MBA course soon but I don't think I really get much out of this course. It's simply another piece of certificate to me.

Yap, I work hard to get my sense of fulfillment and money but seems the current development of my work is too slow in a way for me.

Yap, I start to learn how to open myself to express my feelings and know how to care for another person but now I also know how it feelts when the other person doesn't really care what I have put in.

I felt that my past 27 years are quite smooth in a way. Maybe it's because of my family education that I have been taught not to desire so much and can only rely on myself. So I limit myself in a box that I know I can live happily forever, but I'm also curious about how the life would be if I jump out of the box.

Here the bad news is it's not as good what I expect or I should say I have not yet learned how to handle it. It could be better if I really learn how to live out of this box or it could be even worse that I decide to go back to my small box and make it even smaller.

One friend told me that if I won't try I would never know. Yes, that's true but what would the result be if I keep trying and trying. More and more disappointments?? Or one day I can really make it??

Ruby's Visit

One of my best friends, Ruby, was in Singapore these 2 days because of transiting to New Zealand. She would be having her three weeks holiday from the North to the South of South Island. Can't wait to see those fantastic pictures. : )

During her two days visit in Singapore, we were planning to have one sight seeing day and one shopping day. In the end, we can only shop for two days as it's raining continuously these few days. Sunday morning, we went to Little India to have the traditional India breakfast which was introduce by Jessica. After that, we have no other choice but start our shopping in Orchard as it was raining so badly outside. Later on, Ivan, our ex-Singapore-trainee in Taiwan, joined us and we went to quite a few nice restaurants including The Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge which servers the afternoon tea with the FAMOUS Copenhagen Tea Set, Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice, Max Brenner Chocolate Bar at Esplanade. It was an interesting day that we explore quite a number of nice and new restaurants in Singapore. Haha.. Now, I got some more nice places to go. : )

Chocalate Hug Mug
Chocolate Souffle
On the second day, we went to Ya Kun for our breakfast as I think the Kaya Toast is one of the signature food in Singapore which Ruby can not miss. After that, we can only walk around town area as it was raining again. We visited Raffles Hotel which is one of the Six Stars hotel in Singapore and continued with our shopping. Besides, we went for Pedicure also. These two days are really "Tai Tai" day for both of us.

Only realized that Singapore is quite a nice place for a short holiday. For those people who have been talking about visiting me in Singapore for the past 4 years, it's time to act NOW since you have seen so many nice pictures showing the place and food around lu. : )

No More Exams

Just ended the 7th and also the last semester of my MBA course with the last 2 exams. I really finished the whole 14 subjects. I can't stop admiring myself for the struggling that I have been through in the past 21 months. Now, I only left with one dissertation and that's the end of my whole course. Ha Ha... : )

Ministry of Sound

Went to the newly opened Ministry of Sound with Ceci and Christ today. It's Lady's night so there is no cover charges for us. We were told that the queue would be quite long so we reached around 8:15 pm and started to queue. It's a nice place and they got a few different sections with different set ups and music. The most interesting one to me is "Pure". It's a nice cozy place with "white" as a theme and with some nice "BEDs" and sofas around. It looked very clean and luxury in a way becuase of the settings. Besides, they have a projector scrren made by water in the main area and that's something very exciting to me. I can only say the person who came out this idea is realy a genious.

We spent most of the time in the main area. The music was quite good at the beginning but so so after that. To me, it's not so dancable music in a way. However, around 11pm, we decided to dance a bit before leaving. Then the music became much more interesting and the crowd started to come in.

Generally, that is a place for "YOUNGER" crowd to me. : ) Nevertheless, it's still a very good experience. Next time, I would definitely spend more time at "PURE". I think that should be even more interesting.

Finally, all the pictures taken on Julie's Wedding are all uploaded. There are 732 of them. Check out this LINK if you want to see all of them.

After checking most of the pictures, I realized that I forgot to take pictures with the wonderful night dress I was wearing that day. That might be my biggest investment in terms of dress up to now, but sorry that it's too cold that day and I didn't really take off my big jacket. Just pray that I would take my personal photo shoot soon so that you may have chance to see it. That is going to be a big surprise. ha ha.. : )

Went for a group dinner with some trainees in Singapore for New Year Eve. We went to a very nice Turkish restaurant, Sofra. I have been there once and found the atmosphere and food quite good. This time, it's even better with friends around.

After that, we went to Thumpers at Goodwood Park Hotel. I really wanted to go clubbing as I haven't done it for a long time. Just felt going out and have a crazy night. The queue for New Year Even is really LONG. It took us one hour to get in and it's just about 3 minutes right before the count down. The live band there is quite entertaining. So they made the whole night very fun and high for us as they are playing those music that we are so familiar with. Everyone just kept shouting and singing together with the music. That is really fun!

2006 New Year Resolution

Have been thinking about my 2006 New Year Resolution from my last birthday in mid Dec. Finally, I have come out a few of them that I want to accomplish this year.

1. Professional Personal Photo Shoot
I have not yet taken any professional photo shots and I think it's time to have one set to presume the memory of me in late 20s.

2. Health & Fitness
- Yoga/Pilates: Have been doing both Yoga and Pilates for a while and I really enjoy this kind of exercise. Would work out another schedule after confirming the new place we would move to after Feb.
- Diet/weight Control: Lately, I'm more conscious about health and fitness as friends around me are either on non-carbohydrate diet or blood type diet, but I think it's also good to start to pay attention to this when I'm still young. Health is always the fundamental for anything everything that I want to do in the future.

3. Work Advancement
I have started working on overseas markets at the second half of last year and this move would influence my future career planning directly. So I target to open ASEAN market. Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam are on my first priority as well as India and Philippines if possible.

4. Traveling
- Japan (Cherry Blossom)
- Europe (Germany/Spain)
- Cambodia
- Thailand (Diving)
- New York (New Year Count Down)
- Home (Chinese New Year/Mother's Day/Father's Day)
Anyone interested in joining me at these destinations?

5. MBA
- Dissertation: This would be the last task for my MBA course and would need to submit my dissertation by March. Then I'm done with my MBA course. : )
- Graduation Ceremony: This would be the first that my parents visit me in Singapore. There are no other excuses that they do not "need" to visit me anymore. Ha... Ha...

6. Be Myself
-Just Do It!: One of my friends said that I'm a very rational person and my brain instead of my heart makes all the decisions. So sometimes, I just can't follow my heart. Late last year, I started to release my heart and just follow my feelings. I think it's a good sign that I just do whatever I want and then there is no regret in my life. So this year I would continue and it might not be that easy because I have such a strong mind on everything. : Q
- Cherish and Respect myself: I always believe people need to cherish and respect themselves then others would start to cherish and respect them. I also believe that there is nothing forever other than ourselves. So I decide to cherish myself much much more this year and do everything anything good for myself. We won't know if we still have the chance to do that again if we miss it.

7. Self Improvement
- Japanese: Have been spending my past three years studying. This year, I decide to continue my study but not those formal courses but more on self improvement. Japanese become the choice because I was looking for some Japanese book for a friend and sort of inspired by those books. Besides, I want to visit Japan later this year and this may help.
- Golfing: Seems Golf become a must when talking business at a higher level. My direcotors also suggested me to pick up so that I may have more chances to participate in some networking events. Since I would be free from formal courses this year, golf would come into one of my activites and hopefully I can pick up soon.

Happy Jenny with New Toy!

Have been buying a few things to celebrate my turing into the next stage of life. I got new dress, shoes and handbag, but the most impressive one should be my new PDA Phone. I have been thinking of changing phone for a while but can't really find anything up to my expectation and requirement. However, lately, one of Taiwan manufacture, HTC(High Tech Corporation), launched its own brand, Dopod, in Singapore. They are actually the manufacture for the popular O2. I was eyeing at O2 Atom, but Dopod 818 Pro caught my attention once they released in the market becuase of the better specification in communication. Up to now, this gadget is working fine with me though I would need to adjust my habit of using a simple phone to a PDA phone as the logic is quite different. I guess I started to enjoy the wireless communication features it got after starting to use it for a few days. Happy! Happy!
